Weather Limitations

  • Yellow Checked IconDental procedures, sheath cleaning, and castrations cannot be performed below freezing or during extreme weather conditions. These procedures require the use of water, sedation, and specialized equipment that cannot safely function in freezing temperatures. Additionally, recovery from sedation can be delayed when temperatures are extremely warm.
  • Yellow Checked IconAn enclosed barn or shelter is strongly recommended for all appointments. A protected environment helps keep horses calm, staff safe, and equipment functional. If no suitable shelter is available, some procedures may need to be postponed until conditions improve.
