Small Ruminant Emergencies & Appointment Availability

Our practice’s primary focus is equine medicine. Small ruminant services for sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas are limited in scope and availability and are provided exclusively by Dr. Kate O’Connor.

Urgent or same-day appointments may be available for established herd health clients when scheduling allows. However, we are not always able to accommodate small ruminant emergencies, and clients are strongly encouraged to maintain a backup plan for emergency care.

We do not accept emergency or one-time urgent cases for non-established flocks or herds, and we do not offer general after-hours emergency services for small ruminants.

Establishing a herd health relationship allows for more timely support when urgent needs arise, though emergency care cannot be guaranteed due to scheduling and caseload limitations.

If you are interested in establishing herd health services for your sheep or goats, please contact our office to discuss availability and determine whether your operation is a good fit for our practice.
